Joseph K. Tatum

Joe brings over twenty years of experience in commercial lending where he served as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Commercial Banking Division. His leadership is marked by a commitment to integrity and excellence, reflecting his strong Christian values in every professional engagement.

Currently leading Faith First Business Advisors, Joe dedicates his extensive expertise to mentoring entrepreneurs and small business owners. His firm’s mission is to guide clients toward realizing their God-given potential, helping them to navigate the challenges of business growth and strategic development with faith at the forefront.

Previously, Joe founded TradeWinds Capital, a private investment group that thrived under his 14-year leadership, and served as a Senior Advisor at Seabrook Partners, a boutique M&A firm in the Washington, D.C. area, offering referrals and counsel in mergers and acquisitions. As Co-Founder, Managing Director, and initially COO, and CFO of ADMMicro, Inc., Joe helped shepherd the company from its inception in 2001 to becoming a global player in energy management and building automation, ultimately leading to its successful acquisition by GridPoint in 2009. ADMMicro was blessed with numerous awards under his stewardship, including a feature in Fortune Magazine in 2008, Rising Star Award at Roanoke & Blacksburg Technology Council January 2009, nomination for Small Business of The Year for the State of Virginia in 2010, and Entrepreneur of The Year at Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council in 2011.

In his commitment to Christian service, Joe served diligently on the Board of Trustees at Bluefield College for nine years. There, he chaired the Institutional Advancement Committee and the Endowment Fund, spearheaded the creation of both the Football and Nursing programs, and was honored as Bluefield College Alumnus Of The Year in 2010 for his contributions.

Joe recently accepted a position on the Advisory Council of Carson Newman University’s new Moser Center For Entrepreneurial Leadership where he continues to impact future leaders with principles of faith-based leadership. The first of which will be the new MBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership degree offered by the University through the Moser Center For Entrepreneurial Leadership in the fall of 2024.
